Sue Stauffacher, noted children’s author from Grand Rapids Michigan, will visit the East Lansing Public Library 7 pm, Wednesday March 16 to talk about writing children’s books. Her newest book is “Tillie the Terrible Swede” but many readers and fans will remember her infectiously funny and touching books, “Donutheart” and “Donuthead” which features her delightful protagonist Franklin Delano Donuthead whose adventures in everyday life keep him jumping. The Library event includes an informal discussion of how to get a children’s book published and also the process of creating a book. Stauffacher who was born in Pontiac Michigan earned her B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and her master of fine arts in creative writing from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She has worked as a literacy consultant, a program administrator, a book reviewer, teacher, and parenting columnist. The author has 12 books to her credit.
