If you look for similarities between authors Peter Leonard, Elmore Leonard and Benjamin Busch you would have to say it’s that they came from backgrounds that would not have been predicted their literary careers. The Leonards both emerged from advertising careers writing ads for cars and trucks while Busch’s background is even more unlikely: a soldier, artist, photographer and filmmaker.
Their backgrounds might however showcase why they are successful: none of them are predicatable. Whether you are talking about Busch’s unusual memoir “Dust to Dust” or the Leonard’s unusual approaches to mysteries and thrillers all three authors look at life through different lenses.
On Thursday November 8 father and son Elmore and Peter Leonard will discuss their writing at the Warren Public Library Civic Center Branch at 6 p.m. Read the details here.
Benjamin Busch from Reed City Michigan will talk about his new memoir at the Traverse City National Writers Series on Thursday November 8 at 7 p.m. at the Traverse City Opera House.
